This advanced level programme takes the student on an academic journey through the early history of Egypt, beginning with the pre-dynastic period and the establishment of the Old Kingdom pyramid age.

Divided into four main sections and covering the principle periods and their rulers, the course begins with a general overview of the chronology of Ancient Egypt and the culture. Then looking in detail at the pre-dynastic period and pharaonic Egypt, with the establishment of the Old Kingdom, the unrest of the First Intermediate Period and the beginnings of stability with the Middle Kingdom, a period of prosperity and security.
